School: Stuyvesant High School
SAT Score When First Started 5 Tests Program: 2070
Final SAT Score: 2200

Please give a brief introduction about yourself: Right now, I’m a senior at Stuyvesant High School, about to apply to college. I have gone to A+ Academy since SHSAT. During the summer of sophomore year, I took the SAT prep course which led me into the 5 tests program in the fall.

How did you find about SAT 5 tests program? It was attached to the Summer SAT program that I did. It was offered during the signup of summer prep, so I signed up for the summer SAT prep and 5 tests program.

What did you like about the program? It was short but got to the point quickly in improving SAT scores. The program doesn’t make you do grueling work to improve. You just take a practice test each week and go over the results on another day after school. The teachers know the SAT inside out and can show you how to improve rapidly.

How did the program helped you? There were a lot of tips and tricks for doing problems in all three subjects, but mainly writing. The teachers got to the point and showed us how to answer the specific pattern of questions that shows up on the SAT. The program pretty much taught me ways to immediately improve my SAT score.

Will you recommend the program to your friends? Yes, it’s worthwhile to attend because it can improve your SAT score. It also forces you to do some work, instead of procrastinating until the last week before the SAT.

School: Brooklyn Technical High School
SAT Score When First Started 5 Tests Program: 2020
Final SAT Score: 2200

Please give a brief introduction about yourself. I am currently a high school senior at Brooklyn Tech in the Biological Sciences major. I went to SAT prep at A+ Academy during the summer of my junior year.

How did you find about SAT 5 tests program? I went to A+ when I was prepping for SHSAT, so eventually I went back for SAT prep.

What did you like about the program? It was very intensive so I really got to know how the SAT format would be like and what exactly I would be expecting on the actual test.

How did the program helped you? Taking a test every week gave me more than enough exposure to the kinds of questions I would be asked on the real SAT. Practice always makes perfect, so this program allowed me to follow that idea as I grew increasingly familiar with the tests every week.

Will you recommend the program to your friends? I would definitely recommend this program to friends. The method, of taking a test and then being able to immediately review it, will really push you to do more SAT practice.

How did you find about SAT 5 tests program? When I enrolled in the SAT program, I also found out that there was the 5 tests program.

What did you like about the program? All the exams from the program were actual SAT tests given in the previous years. Thus, I could get a sense of all the possible types of questions that could be asked on the actual exam day.

How did the program helped you? The program allowed me to learn how to manage my time and pace myself during the actual exam.

Will you recommend the program to your friends? Yes, I would recommend the program to my friends because this program not only enables us to take practice exams under a stimulated test taking environment, but also prepares our brain to work within the time limit between the many sections of the test.

Binghamton University – Class of 2017
SAT Score Before 5 Week:
N/A
SAT Final: 1800

Please give a brief introduction about yourself. I am an Edward R. Murrow High School graduate in the class of 2013. I’m currently attending Binghamton University and planning to major in Biology on the pre-med track. I have taken several courses from A+ Academy in the previous years including Statewide Test Program, SHSAT, and SAT.

How did you find out about SAT 5 test program? I was a part of the SAT summer program at A+ Academy. After hearing about the details of the program, I knew that the 5 test program was going to provide some promising results.

What do you like about the program? This program gave me an extraordinary amount of practice on mock SAT exams 5 weeks before I took my SATs. I was exposed to a lot of what the real SAT exam was going to be like, such as the environment and the types of question. By the end of the program, I knew the format of the SAT exams and the expected types of questions that were going to be asked. The program provided a sense of security and a build-up of confidence. I was able to track my performance throughout this entire program because after taking each exam, I was able to go back and learn from the mistakes I’ve made. By the time the real SAT comes around, I made sure to not make the same mistakes. Everyone has his/her own way of approaching the exam whether it is reading the questions before reading the passage or skimming through the passages to answer the questions as quickly as possible. You never know what really works for you until you try them out and this program allowed me to do that. It’s similar to trial-and-error, and by the end, I found a way that I was comfortable with. The class sizes were small and it gave me enough attention I needed. There was also plentiful feedback for my essays so I knew which problems to address the next time I took my mock SAT. Like every prep course, there is always homework. This homework, however, was different because it was personalized to help with the sections of the SAT I had difficulties with. This program is about practice, and as the saying goes, practice makes perfect.

How did the program help you? This program helped me track my progress in the five weeks before my SAT. All I needed was a lot of practice and to be able to apply the skills I learned on a test. It gave me a lot of confidence the day I went in to take my first real SAT exam. The best part about this program was learning from all my mistakes and why they were wrong.

Will you recommend the program to your friends? Yes. I most definitely do recommend this program to my friends. It’s really helpful and as long as the effort is put in, there will be improvement.

School: Brooklyn Technical High School, (Currently Hunter College)
SAT Score When First Started 5 Tests Program:1550,1730, 1810, 1770
Final SAT Score:1970

Please give a brief introduction about yourself. I graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School a year ago, and I am currently enrolled in Hunter College, with aspirations to graduate with a BS degree in nursing, by 2017-2018.

How did you find about SAT 5 tests program? I always prepped in A+ when I was young. However, I found out about the 5-Week SAT Intensive Test Prep program through Elaine Lee, who worked at A+. We took classes together and developed our strong friendship.

What did you like about the program? I loved how the program was strict. The standard tests given were more difficult than the practice tests supplied by Kaplan and Princeton Review. Our scores were definitely not inflated, and the teachers (especially the writing teacher from my year) took their time out to actually teach us skills and tricks to reach the highest score possible.

How did the program helped you? Besides the fact I learned to sincerely love Elaine Lee during this program, the intensive prep helped me achieve the highest score I could ever dream of. My target was actually only a 1800, but a surprise awaited me when I found out I was 30 pts away from 2000. Because of my SAT score, Hunter has given me an additional scholarship on top of my financial aid to assist my finances throughout my college experience.

Will you recommend the program to your friends? I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THIS TO MY FRIENDS!!! Unlike IVY league (the other option), this program isn’t time consuming, and it is actually worth the price.
