Education Access Program

About the Program

2023 will be the 8th year of the Sherry Yan SHSAT Scholarships for Exemplary Teens. These scholarships have been created in an effort to provide more opportunities for high-achieving rising 8th graders to receive test preparation services for the SHSAT exam, and ultimately be able to get into a specialized high school of their choice.

We will be dedicating 10 scholarships towards SHSAT tuition from A+ Academy for either the summer or fall of 2023 program in the amounts of:

  • $1000 (1 applicant)

  • $500 (3 applicants)

  • $200 (6 applicants)

Through these scholarships, we hope to identify motivated, high-achieving students who could really make the best use of this opportunity. We recognize the importance of getting into a good high school for the students in our community and hope to provide that opportunity to those who would otherwise not be able to receive it. These scholarships are open to all 7th graders. To apply, please click on the link below and fill out the required fields. Please note that an essay will be required as part of the application. Upon review of the essays, a group of finalists will be chosen and invited for a short interview and participate in our SHSAT entrance exam. The interview and entrance exam scores will ultimately determine scholarship winners.
